Both Cowboys players will have to write a check.
The Dallas Cowboys were victorious in their Week 1 game against the New York Giants, but that performance seems to have come at a price for two of their players... literally.
NFL games generally have at the very least a couple of penalties throughout them and there were two for Cowboys players that the league looked at and felt further action was necessary. Both Tony Pollard and Maliek Collins have been fined by the NFL for their actions against the G-Men.
Two Cowboys were fined for infractions against the Giants last week: DT Maliek Collins was fined $10,527 for unnecessary roughness, and RB Tony Pollard was fined $28,075 for unnecessary roughness (lowering his head to initiate contact).

Both of these penalties were called during the game so it’s not like the league found something that the referees missed. Any coach will tell you that you never want to have any penalties at all during a game, and any player will add that you definitely don’t want to be fined after one either.
Maliek Collins is in a contract year and looks like he’s going to have a great season so hopefully he’ll be able to make up for his fine in the offseason (after the Cowboys win the Super Bowl obviously!). Tony Pollard is a rookie and Sunday was literally his first NFL game, he’s been welcomed to the league in quite the expensive fashion.
