NFL Draft 2019 news: Josh Rosen traded to Miami

The writing was on the wall for second-year quarterback Josh Rosen the moment the Arizona Cardinals drafted former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray #1 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Now it’s official that last year’s top-10 pick is out of Arizona after just one season.

Rosen (and a 2020 fifth-rounder) was shipped to the Miami Dolphins for the 62nd overall pick (which Arizona used on WR Andy Isabella). The former UCLA star figures to be the favorite to start down in South Florida, considering his only other competition is veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. Miami moved on from Ryan Tannehill by trading him to the Tennessee Titans.

Arizona finished with the worst record in the NFL in 2018, hence they got the #1 overall pick. Steve Wilks and the rest of the coaching staff was fired, and in came Kliff Kingsbury as new head coach. It’s been an open secret that Murray was on Arizona’s radar, and that spelled bad news for Rosen, who no doubt struggled as a rookie, but was also on a talent-poor offense that was last in almost every major statistical category.
