Denver is asking fans to weigh in on their top 100 players as part of the #NFL100 Fantennial celebrations.
Good morning, Broncos Country!
So who are your top 100 Broncos?
The first 30 are a piece of cake, right? And for many fans from the 1960s and 70s teams, you’ve probably easily got 40-50 in your head right now.
After that, it’s going to require a Jess Place-level of Broncos history knowledge to round out the top 100.
But what a freakin’ fun exercise!!
We're also celebrating #NFL100 by letting fans help choose the #Broncos Top 100 Team.

There’s an official way to do this online, and you should go do it. But not until you discuss it here with the best Broncos fans on earth.
This is all in conjunction with the NFL turning 100 years old this season, and to celebrate this centennial birthday, teams are creating a host of “fantennial” events.
Fan voting of the Top 100 Broncos will run throughout May, and the Top 100 team will be announced in mid-June.
Broncos alumni as well as team historian Jim Saccomano and senior digital reporter Andrew Mason will also help pick the Broncos Top 100 Team. Current Ring-of-Fame and Hall-of-Fame players are automatically included, but now we have a great avenue to highlight so many good Broncos over the years.
"First and Ten" poll time!

In selecting the #Broncos100 team, which of these non-Ring of Fame quarterbacks do you feel most deserves to be among the 100 greatest Broncos?https://t.co/3xA2AYupIZ@SteveAtwater27 @MaseDenver @redwardsradio
Select players on that Top 100 team will participate in the Broncos’ “Fantennial Weekend” Oct. 11-13, which will culminate in a recognition of new Hall-of-Fame inductees owner Pat Bowlen and cornerback Champ Bailey at the Broncos vs. Titans game on Sunday.
Just as a refresher, here are the players automatically on the list because of their ROF/HOF inclusion:
Steve Atwater, DB
Pat Bowlen, Owner
Terrell Davis, RB
Jason Elam, K
John Elway*, QB
Simon Fletcher, LB
Austin “Goose” Gonsoulin, S
Randy Gradishar, LB
Gerald H. Phipps, Owner
Rich Jackson, DE
Tom Jackson, LB
Charley Johnson, QB
Floyd Little, RB
John Lynch, S
Red Miller, Coach
Gene Mingo, RB/K
Karl Mecklenburg, LB
Craig Morton, QB
Haven Moses, WR
Tom Nalen, C
Dan Reeves, Coach

Dennis Smith, S
Paul Smith, DE
Rod Smith, WR
Lionel Taylor, WR
Bill Thompson, DB
Frank Tripucka, QB
Jim Turner, K
Rick Upchurch, WR
Louis Wright, CB
Gary Zimmerman*, T
Off the top of my head, a few players I would definitely add to this list would be every member of the Orange Crush D not already on there, Al Wilson, John Mobley, Ed McCaffrey, Jake Plummer, Howard Griffith, Gary Kubiak, Riley Odoms, Reuben Droughns, Rich Karlis, Terrance Knighton, Rulon Jones, Elvis Dumervil.
And of the more current players, of course the list would include Peyton Manning, Ryan Clady, Chris Harris Jr., Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, DeMarcus Ware.
Jess Place, Tim Lynch and I discussed our list of the Top 100 on our recent podcast. Listen in to see who we picked - and who we ditched ;)
So who have you got, Broncos Country?

The best player/scheme fits of the 2019 NFL draft
Remember how George Kittle blew up for the 49ers under Kyle Shanahan in 2018, catching 88 passes for 1,377 yards and five touchdowns in his second NFL season? You may see another Iowa tight end excelling in a similar system. The Broncos took Fant 20th overall after trading down with the Steelers, and there’s no question that Fant is the best receiving tight end in this class, with a complete route understanding and a peerless ability to get open in coverage.
