From @gmfb: A lot of progress has been made on health and safety in talks between the NFL and NFLPA. The problem is the financial discussions haven't progressed in the last few days as hoped. Does that need to be fixed before the start of training camps? Depends who you talk to. pic.twitter.com/PrMEowhlyP

Checking back on Washington's 2020 draft class. With 7th-round DE James Smith-Williams signing his rookie deal, per source, that's five done.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) July 22, 2020
Chase Young, Khaleke Hudson and Kamren Curl to go.
Carry on.
Was told the other day: they expect all the rookies will be signed by Friday. Needed them in town to take physicals. Then can sign. And now they’re signing. https://t.co/cXYz2p4Im6
— John Keim (@john_keim) July 22, 2020
If they do it would be a low end signing (my understanding). No word yet on Latimer

Washington has signed six of its eight draft picks, but not Chase Young.
— Sam Fortier (@Sam4TR) July 22, 2020
The signed picks (plus UDFAs) report to the team facility tomorrow for COVID testing.

Julie Donaldson tells @JunksRadio her first phone call about the Redskins job was with Terry Bateman, the newly re-hired Chief Marketing Officer. Says she was reluctant at first -- wasn't sure it was the right fit -- so it took some convincing. https://t.co/b9o9yYiFBr
— Chris Lingebach (@ChrisLingebach) July 22, 2020
"Whatever they pick, I'll get behind, as long as I also know that that brand and that name stands for something, so fans have something to get proud in going forward, and it's not just a name, but it's more than that."
— Chris Lingebach (@ChrisLingebach) July 22, 2020
Asked if all analyst roles are up for grabs, Donaldson said, "Yeah. It's my decision to make this work, and to make it work for what the fans are gonna want, for what the vision is of Dan Snyder..."
— Chris Lingebach (@ChrisLingebach) July 22, 2020
"He goes, 'So I really want you to push the envelope on it.' He's like, 'I'm backing you to go as far as you can. If it doesn't work, OK. We'll readjust.'"

She also added that all the radio jobs are up for grabs implying Cooley isn’t locked in to be in the booth in 2020.
— Jay (@RedskinsCult) July 22, 2020
She said "men" when describing the people shes looking for to fill the radio role. She did also imply she would be in the booth, but not doing play by play
— Jay (@RedskinsCult) July 22, 2020
Yeah, I mean, that wouldn't surprise me with Cooley, nor would it surprise me with another name thats floated around as a potential play by play guy...

joined @SarahSpain and @jordancornette discusses the allegations of sexual harassment and verbal abuse against the organization, and why Snyder should take this moment and create a real movement.https://t.co/6GwxBfOaP7
NDAs continue to shield sexual/discriminatory abuses and silence victims within two NFL franchises. As long as the NFL allows it, the league is complicit in the culture problems it claims to not tolerate.
— Joey Gulino (@JGulinoYahoo) July 22, 2020
It's time something changed.@CharlesRobinsonhttps://t.co/sPJ1g7Bxyi
Was getting ready to say this. Workplace harassment is widely considered to be prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights act which should render these NDAs unenforceable.

— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) July 22, 2020
"The team is still the team, a name doesn't mean that much... I'm grateful. I think it's a good thing."
Charles Mann on #GrantAndDanny, on the idea of changing the team colors:
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) July 22, 2020
"That would be a travesty. I feel like you're disrupting the franchise. Changing the nickname is one thing but changing the colors would be devastating. You definitely need to keep the burgundy and gold."
Dear Washington football team, please pick a name with Washington in it instead of calling yourselves DC so that I don't have to change all the abbreviations in all my work. Thank you.

Yesterday, the NFLPA told players the working number on padded practices is 8, with no more than 3 consecutive days in full pads. Issue is that, per the likely timeline, padded practices won't start til late August.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) July 22, 2020
So if you want to kick off Sept. 13, very little wiggle room.
By the time players go through testing, walkthroughs & then actually get to their just their first padded practices under a pandemic-impacted schedule, the traditional September start would potentially be like what-- 3wks away, give or take? Yes, an October start sounds safer. https://t.co/tkatboaYBH

NFL could again cut the Giants a sweetheart deal. If there is no season, the NFL could just play the 2021 Draft according to the same order, which would give CIN the first pick.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) July 22, 2020
But if they take an average of team records over the last 3 years, the Giants would jump CIN to #1!

Close to 31% of players on NFL active rosters in 2019 entered the league as undrafted free agents. Preseason games and OTAs were a massive platform for them to showcase that they had a spot in the NFL.
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) July 21, 2020
Making a roster as a UDFA this season will be a huge achievement.
No preseason will make it tougher for UDFAs to make rosters.

New York football update.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) July 22, 2020
Over the last 4 years, the Jets have the 2nd-worst record in the NFL.
Over the last 5 years, the Giants have the worst record in the NFC.
If the NFL used last year's standings, it would be a huge windfall for Cincinnati and Washington, two teams I'm not sure the NFL is willing to anger the rest of the league over.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) July 22, 2020
If they average the last 3 years, NYG/CLE would get those picks. Last 4, CLE/NYJ. Last 5-CLE/NYG-JAX.
