Fanduel Cash Game Tips: Week 3
Palm to face. That GIF represents pretty much my entire week 2, season long and DFS. With week 2 now in the books, I sit here behind my laptop today looking back at my week 2 cash game considerations. I am obviously not happy with the outcome from those picks. Not only did my week 2 selections vastly underperform but I put my money where my mouth was and it cost me big time in all of my cash games this week. I do not regret the players I rode last week because each one was in a great situation. It just didn’t work out but I am back to provide you with more guys to think about inserting into your lineups.
We are approaching week 3 now and I am moving forward. I am going to give you players that are going to dominate in week 3 and win both of us money. There are some great matchups to exploit and I will be looking at those giving you the players in great positions to produce. Let’s get after it, here are my 7 players to consider in FanDuel cash games.

Quarterback
- Kirk Cousins
$8,600 vs. Bills
For the first time this season I am spending up at quarterback and going to look for value at other positions. Patrick Mahomes was in consideration but my concern is that he has yet to throw the ball 30 times. Instead, I am going with Cousins. He is fresh off 425 yard 4 touchdown game. Add in the fact that Cousins gets to play at home against maybe the worst team in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills. Through the first 2 games, the Bills have allowed 492 passing yards and 6 touchdowns. They have allowed the 4th most points to the quarterback position as well.
- Drew Brees
$8,500 at Falcons
Drew Brees has a career 16-9 record against the Falcons. Over those 25 games, Brees is averaging 306 passing yards and 1.84 touchdowns per game. So far in 2018, the Saints have been throwing more often. Through 2 games, Brees is averaging 40 pass attempts, 341 yards, 2.5, touchdowns, and is completing 81.3% of his passes. Cam Newton was able to throw for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns in his week 2 showdown with the Falcons. With Brees playing at a high level and the Falcons defense banged up, it should lead to more opportunities for Brees to put up big numbers.
Runningback
- Alvin Kamara
$8,700 at Falcons
I am going back to the bank with Kamara in week 3. The Falcons have allowed the 8th most points to running backs in the first 2 weeks. I am most interested in Kamara for what he could do as a receiver out of the backfield. Christian McCaffrey just caught 14 passes for 102 yards against the same Falcons defense. The Falcons are also without Keanu Neal and Deion Jones. According to Pro Football Reference, in 2017 the Falcons allowed the most catches and 4th most receiving yards to running backs. Receiving out of the backfield is Kamara’s best asset. With another week of no Mark Ingram, it should mean a larger role for Kamara against this division rival.
- Jordan Howard
$7,400 at Cardinalsmost points to running backs so far by allowing 427 total yards and 5 touchdowns to opposing backfields. Howard touched the ball 20 times in week 1 and 17 in week 2. 20 touches against the worst team against running backs should be plenty for Howard to produce and have his best game of 2018. Howard is running as a 3 down back and showing he can catch passes, so he should see plenty of opportunities in a positive game script.
Wide Receiver
- Tyreek Hill
$8,200 vs. 49ers
Check out what I wrote about in this article in week 1 about Adam Thielen against the 49ers. Thielen turned in a 6 catch 102-yard performance in this matchup in week 1. Hill ran 50% of his week 1 snaps from the slot which is where Thielen was running from 50% of the time. News flash, Hill is faster than Thielen. Not only that, but the 49ers are allowing the 9th most points to receivers to start the season. Right now the Chiefs offense is red hot and the 49ers defense is not. This is the Chiefs home opener and I expect them to come out firing and scoring points.
- Nelson Agholor
$6,600 vs Colts
I am on Nelson Agholor again this week with Alshon Jeffery most likely missing week 3 and the return of Carson Wentz. Agholor will once again be a primary target in the passing game with Zach Ertz. He received double-digit targets in the first 2 games and that should continue in week 3. The Colts secondary is not talented enough to cover Agholor out of the slot where he runs most of his routes. The Eagles are going to be out to prove something at home after losing last week to Tampa Bay.
Tight End
- George Kittle
$5,800 at Chiefs
George Kittle was a let down in week 2 but should bounce back in week 3. The Chiefs have been one of the worst pass defenses so far in 2018. They have allowed the 2nd most points again tight ends in 2018. Through 2 weeks, tight ends have accumulated 12 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown. Kittle is an athletic freak and with Marquise Goodwin still banged up, Kittle should see plenty of action.
These 7 guys are in phenomenal matchups and should produce their value and then some. Good luck in week 3!
