Previewing the rest of the West in Week 3

Let’s have a look at what the LA Rams’ NFC West rivals are up to in Week 3

The Los Angeles Rams (2-0) will look to remain undefeated, and atop the NFC West, through three weeks of play as they host the LA Chargers (1-1) on Sunday afternoon. This looks to be the Rams’ toughest test thus far of the 2018 season. We’ll have more on that all week long.

As for the rest of the West, here’s what they’ve got cooking this weekend:

49ers (1-1) at Chiefs (2-0)

Perhaps no NFC West team has a more difficult slate to start the season than the San Francisco 49ers. They opened their season in Minnesota, and despite being dinged up made a game of it, but fell 24-16 to a very strong Vikings squad.

This Week, they’ll take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead — a team that’s come out of the gates hotter than any other NFL team. The Patrick Mahomes lead offense is on fire through the first two weeks, as the Chiefs are averaging 405.5 yards of offense (6th) and 40 points per game (1st).

The 49ers are a team on the rise, but I don’t think it would surprise anyone if the red hot Chiefs move to 3-0 on Sunday. Oh, and it’s the home opener for KC.

Bears (1-1) at Cardinals (0-2)

Having to take on the Rams and Bears defenses in back-to-back weeks almost seems unfair. Poor Cardinals...

Cowboys (1-1) at Seahawks (0-2)

This will also be a home opener for the Seahawks...though I’m not sure the power of the 12th man, nor their roster, is as strong as it used to be. And it appears a sluggish start to the season has already forced the finger-pointing in Seattle — as fans begin to grow frustrated with Russell Wilson, Pete Carroll, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. It’s not an ideal start to the season.

They’ll be hosting the Dallas Cowboys who currently sit atop the NFC East division. They’ve obviously got a ton of talent on offense (namely Tavon Austin), but their defense through two weeks ranks 2nd in the NFL in sacks (with 9). Did I mention that Russell Wilson has been sacked 12 times in the first two weeks? Look for Rod Marinelli to apply the heat early and often in Seattle on Sunday.
