Who’s coaching this team?: Redskins Wide Receivers Coach Ike Hilliard

A brief profile of Redskins Wide Receivers Coach Ike Hilliard

Name: Ike Hilliard

Title: Wide Receivers Coach

Experience: 20 years

Bio: Of Hilliard’s 20 seasons of NFL experience, longtime fans will remember that 12 of them came as a wideout for the Giants and Buccaneers. After a stellar career with the University of Florida Gators, Hilliard recorded 546 receptions for 6,397 yards and 35 touchdowns in his time as an NFL wide receiver. Following the conclusion of his playing career after the 2008 campaign, Hillard immediately got into coaching, taking a position with the UFL’s Florida Tuskers. During his two years there, he worked with Jay Gruden, as Gruden was the offensive coordinator and later the head coach of the Tuskers. Hilliard spent the next three years doing one season each for the Dolphins, Redskins, and Bills, before returning to the Redskins (and rejoining Gruden) in 2014.

Fun Fact: Of Hilliard’s nine career 100-yard regular-season games, two came against the Redskins—both in 1999—but both were also double-digit losses for the Giants.
