Should the Jaguars try to trade for Marcus Gilbert?

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly shopping right tackle Marcus Gilbert for a trade. Should the Jacksonville Jaguars be interested?

A former second round pick out of the University of Florida, Gilbert has a long history of injuries — playing a full 16-game schedule just twice in his eight-season career. His last two seasons have been marred by injuries and a four-game suspension, playing in just 12 games total since the end of the 2016 season.

Gilbert just turned 31 years old and I don’t know if he should be a target. He’s certainly shown quite a bit of talent in his career and a change of scenery out of Pittsburgh could do him well. He’s also going to come very cheap, counting less than $5 million against the cap. But do you want to bring a guy on who you almost know won’t be able to shoulder the load of a full NFL season? He’s in the last year of his current contract so this would certainly be a stop gap measure.

What do you think? Should the Jaguars think about trading for Gilbert? Or are there other better targets at right tackle out there? Let us know in the comments below!
