A deserved extension.
The Titans made a move today, locking up Pro Bowl punter Brett Kern for the foreseeable future. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Titans gave Kern a four year extension.
Meanwhile, the #Titans agreed to terms with Pro Bowl punter Brett Kern on a 4-year extension worth $12.55M, source said. He gets $2.2M to sign.

It has been confirmed by the team.
Kern was set to become a free agent after the 2019 season. He will reportedly receive a 2.2 million dollar signing bonus as a part of his new deal, which totals 12.5 million. Kern will continue to be the team’s longest tenured player, dating back to 2009.
The Titans ranked 10th in net punting average in 2018. Kern ranked 2nd in the league with 39 punts pinned inside the 20 last season.
The 33 year old is set to enter his 12th season in the NFL in 2019.
Unfortunately for the Titans, Kern’s abilities were shown off far too often last season as the team struggled offensively once again. Kern checked in with 79 attempts last season, which tied for the 10th most opportunities in the league.
Maybe new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith can help fix that final stat.
