Could the Bucs trade for Jalen Ramsey?

How much would you give up for the talented corner?

Superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey wants out of Jacksonville, per Adam Schefter:

CB Jalen Ramsey’s agent asked for a trade after yesterday’s loss at Houston, league sources tell @mortreport and me

The Jaguars have spoken with interested teams, but there is no current plan to trade Ramsey.

Apparently, the catalyst for this isn’t Jacksonville’s struggles per se but a confrontation between Ramsey and Jaguar Head Coach Doug Marrone:

One league source said he believes Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey could be traded this week, that once there is a sideline confrontation between a head coach and a player, both sides have to move on.

It seems that the two sides are quickly heading for a mutual parting of the ways as early as this week. This comes on the heels of star Miami Dolphins defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick wanting out of the tanking rebuild job the Dolphins are clearly in.

Tampa Bay’s defense has performed well so far this season. They’ve only allowed one touchdown over the season’s first eight quarters. They held the 49ers to just 4.3 yards per play and then followed that up with limiting the Panthers to just 4.8 yards per play. The Buccaneer secondary held San Francisco QB Jimmy Garoppolo to 5.9 yards per attempt — the lowest of his career — and an obviously still injured Cam Newton to 6.1 yards per attempt. Still, it’s easy to argue that they’ve yet to be tested by an elite quarterback that can really challenge them.

While the scheme seems solid and the unit appears fully bought in to what defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is doing, they still lack elite top end talent in the secondary. Talent they are going to need if they want to be true division and playoff contenders. A player like Ramsey or Fitzpatrick could go a long way to taking them there.

So what would it take to make it happen?

The Jaguars are asking teams for at least one first-round pick in return for Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey, but want more than that in return, per sources.
