Here is your Wednesday injury report for the Broncos and the Bears.

The Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears released their first injury report of the week ahead of their Sunday afternoon game. For the Broncos, they might be getting back a starting inside linebacker while a few new names joined the injury report.

The big news out of today’s injury report was the news of tackle Ja’Wuan James missing at least a couple weeks due to a knee injury. Head Coach Vic Fangio said that he will miss at least two weeks and they will go from there after that.

“He’ll miss a couple of weeks to start off the bat. Then from there we’ll see.”

That means Elijah Wilkinson will get the start at right tackle against the dominant Chicago Bears defense. That should go well.

Joining James on the injury report as a “DNP” is injured cornerback Bryce Callahan who is dealing with a foot injury still, fullback Andy Janovich and linebacker Joseph Jones. All three players would be welcome additions to the team when they’re healthy enough to return.

The good news from today’s practice was the return(at least on a limited basis) of starting inside linebacker Todd Davis. He practiced on a limited basis for the first time today since injuring his calf in mid-July.

When asked by reporters after practice if Davis thought he would be able to play this upcoming Sunday, he said “Absolutely”.

“Absolutely. That’s my goal. I know the coaching staff has their plan for me and to make sure I’m healthy and ready to go, but my goal is to definitely be back on Sunday.”

The Broncos run defense was gashed by rookie runner Josh Jacobs this past Monday night, so the return of Davis should benefit their run defense.
