Here is everything you need to watch, listen to and bet on Sunday’s game
The New York Giants will host the Buffalo Bills Sunday at MetLife Stadium for the team’s second game of the season. It comes a week after New York’s season-opening loss in Dallas. Meanwhile, Buffalo won at MetLife last Sunday against the Jets.
The Giants will be thin at wide receiver with Sterling Shepard out with a concussion, Darius Slayton out with a hamstring injury and Cody Latimer questionable with a calf issue.
Veterans Bennie Fowler and Russell Shepard figure to be relied upon, as does T.J. Jones, who was re-signed as insurance this week. Cody Core, claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals a week ago, is also on the 53-man roster.
The Giants will likely have to rely heavily upon tight end Evan Engram in the passing game. Engram had career highs in catches (11), targets (14) and receiving yards (116) vs. the Cowboys.
They will also undoubtedly lean heavily on star running back Saquon Barkley for a large portion of their yards. Even with the receiver injuries, it could be much worse for Giants fans. At least the team has a legitimate threat on offense every time he touches the ball.
Safety Antoine Bethea tied for the team-lead with seven tackles in his Giants debut last week. Since 2016, Bethea ranks second among safeties with 295 tackles.
Meanwhile, the Bills will look to sweep the New York teams after their 17-16 win over the Jets on Sunday. It wasn’t a pretty win, and was heavily influenced by Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley exiting the game in the second half with an injury. That opened the door for Bills gunslinger Josh Allen and company to establish their run game and score a pair of late-game touchdowns.
It should be a fun, close game to watch today. Both teams can feasibly take this one, so it’s a tough prediction.
