Golden Nuggets: Which 49ers WR will have the biggest impact vs Bucs

In 2018, the 49ers wide receiving corps was a disappointment. Whether it was injuries (Garcon, Pettis, Taylor), personal issues (Goodwin), inexperience (Bourne, James), or poor QB play (CJ Beathard), the group severely underperformed given the fact that they were playing for one of the premier offensive minds in the league in HC Kyle Shanahan.

But 2019 is a new year, and with it comes the promise of a much improved wide recieving group. Additions such as rookies Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd add a physicality that was missing at the position in 2018. Returning players like Goodwin, Pettis, Taylor, Bourne, and James bring stability and continuity which should help QB Jimmy Garoppolo as he works his way back into form after a season lost to injury.

But with all of the promise of this group heading into the 2019 season, one question remains:

Which one of these Wide Recievers will take the reigns and assert themselves into that true WR1 role?

Only time will tell, and the season is long, but the first step towards answering that question will come this Sunday in Tampa Bay against a young, inexperienced Buccaneers secondary.

We know that Trent Taylor and Jalen Hurd will miss the game due to injury, which leaves just five receivers on the active roster this Sunday. The good news is that each should have their opportunities to contribute with Shanahan opting to spread the ball around to keep the defense guessing. But which wide receiver do you think will contribute the most?
