Golden Nuggets: Who do you think you are, Mr. Big Chest?

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Sunday, September 8, 2019

If I were doing the Golden Nuggets on a Saturday Night before the first game of the San Francisco 49ers season, I’d be talking about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 49ers first game! The start of the season.

Nah, I’m gonna talk about Antonio Brown, AKA Mr. Big Chest. I mean, why not. Albert Haynesworth can’t believe how disastrous of a signing this has been for Brown and for the Raiders. After all the drama with Pittsburgh, and now Oakland, Brown is free. Again. And he’s signed with the New England Patriots.

Come on, you knew the road was leading here.

Given the timing, it will take a week or two until his presence is truly known as he’ll need to learn the Patriot offense. As annoying as it is (especially when you realize it was a cheap deal where he can walk after this year and the Patriots can get a comp pick), thank goodness he didn’t land with the Seattle Seahawks. If he landed with the Seahawks, you know what happens then. Seattle is the luckiest team ever by just having Jadeveon Clowney drop right into their laps. They get him AND Mr. Big Chest? I wouldn’t know what to think.

There are reports that Mr. Big Chest wanted to go to the Patriots all along. If true, good luck proving tampering there. Brown is now with the Patriots. Tom Brady has the best receiving corps he’s had since Randy Moss was running around there, and the Raiders now get to figure out what the hell they’re going to do.

One has to wonder who had a worse time in Oakland so far, Mr. Big Chest or Jon Gruden.

So enough about that. We got a game today! The 49ers have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and we have football.

Thank God. Through the week we’ll be finishing up the Reason for/Against posts that I’ve been slacking on and then we’ll look to 2019 season. Besides the 49ers and the Bucs, I’m curious how the rest of the league shapes up. I’m looking forward to a look at the Arizona Cardinals offense and might sneak a peak at a commercial during the game (they play the same time as the 49ers) and I want to see how bad the Miami Dolphins will be after all the pieces they’ve given up in Tankathon 2019.

Football is here's folks. It’s NFL 100, but the greatest storyline is the storyline of one Chest, first name: Big.

Onto some links.
