Following a historic, record-setting performance against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, the Ravens host the Arizona Cardinals for the home opener in Baltimore.
Arizona received the ball to start the game. After a failed drive and punt from the Cardinals, Lamar Jackson and the offense picked up where they left off the week before. Jackson completed passes to tight ends Nick Boyle and Mark Andrews, as well as rookie wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood Brown’ to march down the field. He capped the drive off with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Andrews.

Baltimore’s defense was able to force a 3-and-out on defense, but the offense was unable to capitalize on it as they failed to convert on 4th-and-3. The next three drives all ended in field goals, two for Arizona and one for the Ravens, making the score 10-6.
Jackson found the end zone again on the next drive, this time to tight end Hayden Hurst. The drive included a 24-yard pass to Andrews and a 20-yard pass to running back Mark Ingram, who was shaken up after a big hit. Baltimore now had a 17-6 lead.

Neither team was able to move the ball effectively for the next several drives before the end of the first half. The Ravens received the ball to start the second half, but quickly went 3-and-out. The offense had stalled after a strong opening to the game. The Cardinals chipped into the lead again with another field goal, cutting the score to 17-9.
Baltimore was able to hit a field goal of their own after a time-consuming drive, giving them the 20-9 lead. Quarterback Kyler Murray quickly drove his team down the field, however, as he connected with wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald for a gain of 54 yards. Safety Tony Jefferson appeared to let Fitzgerald slip by unnoticed on the play. Running back David Johnson punched the ball into the end zone to end the drive. Murray then hit receiver KeeSean Johnson for the two-point conversion, making it a three-point game at 20-17.
Justin Tucker extended the Ravens lead by hitting a 51-yard field goal. Down by six, Murray and the Cardinals had a chance to take the lead with over eight minutes left to play in the fourth quarter. After an up-and-down day, Baltimore’s defense stood tall, forcing a 3-and-out. After a punt from the offense, however, the defense was right back on the field in a position to win the game in front of their home crowd. Once again the defense flexed it’s muscles, forcing another 3-and-out and giving the ball back to jackson and the offense with just over three minutes left to play.
The drive was in jeopardy when Jackson was faced with a 3rd-and-11, but the second-year quarterback remained poised, stood in the pocket, and delivered a perfect 41-yard pass to Brown near the sideline. The Ravens were then able to run the clock out and escape with a narrow victory, improving to 2-0.

Jackson had another strong performance, throwing for 272 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He also had 120 rushing yards on 16 carries. Andrews eclipsed 100 yards for the second week in a row, totaling 112 yards and a touchdown. Brown was just shy of 100 yards with 86 on eight catches.
