Vikings apparently Jonesing for a lineman
Yesterday, word broke that the Minnesota Vikings were looking to bring back backup lineman Brett Jones. It was reported that he didn’t even clean out his locker in anticipation of being re-signed. Today, that move was made official, which is cool because if they had told him not to clean out his locker and then DIDN’T re-sign him...man that would have been some cold-blooded savagery. Anyway, the officially official tweet. Note the other moves:
The #Vikings have signed C Brett Jones (@brettjones69) and waived TE Brandon Dillon.

K Chase McLaughlin has been released from the practice squad.

Chris Tomasson tweeted that if Dillon clears waivers the Vikings would like to bring him back on to the practice squad:
Source says that if tight end Brandon Dillon, let go today, clears waivers he is expected to join the #Vikings practice squad.

But, Tomasson reported a short while later that might not be so cut and dried:
I'm told that Brandon Dillon, waived by the #Vikings, could have other options. More will known if he clears waivers. https://t.co/3MbCjd3NGm

If Dillon signs elsewhere, the Vikings would still have one spot open on the practice squad. I’m NOT SAYING they would sign this player, I’m just throwing this tweet out there:
We've signed K Sam Ficken and waived K Kaare Vedvik.

The only reason I mentioned the Vedvik news is that there was chatter on cutdown day, from multiple sources, that if Vedvik had cleared waivers he would be re-signed to the practice squad. Not saying it’ll happen, but we’ll see what happens.
