Falcons links for a Thursday.
It’s schedule release day! Today we’ll learn what the Falcons’ season will look like in 2020. As for the links, we’re in post-draft mode, previewing the different positional battles and the outlook at each spot on the Atlanta Falcons roster. Read on for Thursday’s edition of Falcoholinks.
Roster review: Quarterbacks
Matt Ryan will obviously be the Falcons’ starter at QB in 2020, but what does the situation look like behind him? The Falcons didn’t draft any quarterbacks and haven’t signed one as an undrafted free agent, so there seems to be a competition brewing for Ryan’s primary backup.
Running back battles
The Falcons signed Todd Gurley to be their feature back for the 2020 season, but there’s a handful of guys vying for the RB2 role. Ito Smith, Qadree Ollison, Brian Hill, and Craig Reynolds all come with their own pluses and minuses at the position, so who is likely in line to fill the backup spot?
Getting to know Jordan Williams
The Falcons have signed 26 undrafted free agents, one of them being linebacker Jordan Williams out of Baylor. Our Evan Birchfield caught up with the young defender to get to know him and the skills he can bring to the Falcons’ defense.
