Sunday Night Football open thread: Cowboys at Rams

Who will win the first game at SoFi Stadium?

Let’s try to forget what happened today, okay?

The Dallas Cowboys came up just short of the playoffs last season, with a brutal Week 16 loss to the eventual NFC East winners Philadelphia Eagles. Now, with an explosive offense made even more deadly after drafting CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott and company will take aim for the division again. With the Eagles falling to Washington today, the Cowboys have an opportunity to get a head start on their main rival.

However, they will be taking on a new-look Rams team in a new-look stadium. SoFi Stadium is the new multi-billion dollar home of the Rams—and Chargers—and they will look to christen the stadium with a win. The Rams themselves have a lot of changes, and not just their logos and jerseys. Gone are Todd Gurley, Dante Fowler, Cory Littleton, Brandin Cooks, and Greg Zuerlein. In comes... Cam Akers? The Rams are a shadow of their Super Bowl selves. With money dished out to Jared Goff, Aaron Donald, and recently-extended Cooper Kupp, the Rams are hoping some guys can step up to fill the void.

Let’s hope for some good football to cleanse our mind.
