Two exciting teams face off on Sunday Night Football.
Sunday Night Football features a rematch of one of the most memorable Super Bowls of the past decade. The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks went down to the wire in the 2015 Super Bowl, with Seattle a mere one yard away from a game-winning touchdown. Malcolm Butler Matt Patricia stepped up with one of biggest fourth quarter plays in the history of the NFL, and the Patriots won.
While Patricia is off to a history tenure with the Detroit Lions, the Patriots have not missed a beat. The Patriots appeared in three-straight Super Bowls from 2016 to 2018, although 2020 is a whole new chapter in their history. The departure of Tom Brady to Tampa Bay leaves the Patriots with a new face at quarterback: Cam Newton. Newton did not light up the scoreboard in his first start as a Patriot with just 155 passing yards, but he made up for it with his legs, looking like the Cam of old with 75 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Seattle Seahawks had an offensive explosion against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. Russell Wilson had a quartet of passing touchdowns, and while quiet in the run game, Chris Carson nabbed two touchdown catches. Wilson remains one of the very best in the NFL, although the defense will need to step up. Atlanta passed for over 400 yards last week, with three receivers each hitting 100 yards. Jamal Adams was a key acquisition for the Seattle secondary. Tonight will have to be a bounce-back game.
