Two elite facial hairs face off on Thursday Night Football.
It’s the battle we’ve all been waiting for: Ryan Fitzpatrick’s beard versus Gardner Minshew’s mustache. Which player will comb out on top?
Oh, you’re here for football? Alrighty then.
You might think Fitzpatrick’s beard is weird, or Minshew’s ‘stache is trash, but the Jaguars and Dolphins could surprise to create an entertaining match on “Thursday Night Football.”
The Dolphins are 0-2 entering the third week of the NFL season. Fitzpatrick has done his usual Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde impersonation, with a three-pick Week 1 disaster followed up by solid two touchdown and 300 yard Week 2. Will we get Fitzmagic or Fitztragic tonight? His supporting cast is starting to come together, with Myles Gaskin, Mike Gesicki, and Isaiah Ford showing some flashes.
The Jaguars are perhaps one of the most surprising 1-1 teams. Minshew has thrown three touchdowns in both games, and looks surprisingly good on a team that many envisioned would be competing for the first pick in the draft. There is no guarantee that he is their quarterback of the future, but if he keeps his play up, it might become a reality. Another surprise has been the performance of undrafted rookie James Robinson. The running back out of Illinois State has been the bell cow on offense to replace Leonard Fournette. In Week 2, he racked up 102 rushing yards. The Jaguars might have found a gem.
