7 Players to Consider in FanDuel Cash Games Week 4

FanDuel Cash Games: Week 4

Week 4 has arrived and we are at the quarter mark of the season. The first 3 weeks have provided some surprises along the way. Week 1 saw Ryan Fitzpatrick throw for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns, Tyreek Hill continue his explosive play, and the Steelers and Browns finish in a tie. Week 2 found another tie on our hands between the Packers and Vikings, Melvin Gordon scored 3 touchdowns, and Blake Bortles had 376 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Last week was highlighted by the debut of Baker Mayfield and the Browns winning for the first time in 635 days, the Bills blowing out the Vikings, and Drew Brees and Matt Ryan accounting for 10 touchdowns.

Week 4 promises to bring excitement and also has teams on bye for the first time this season. The Panthers and Redskins will both have the week off. Some of the matchups I am most looking forward to is Vikings/Rams on Thursday night, Bengals/Falcons and Browns/Raiders. I have interest in the Browns only because I want to watch Mayfield in his first career start.

As for the daily fantasy side of things, there are several matchups to exploit. Here are my 7 players to consider in FanDuel cash games for week 4.

Recommended Tools:

  • Daily Roto – Daily Roto has Redzone data, snap counts, targets, and an awesome Lineup optimizer
  • The Quant Edge – TQE has a WR/CB matchup tool that’ll be perfect for WR Start/Sits.
  • MyBookie –  Sports betting lines like over/under are very underrated in daily fantasy sports

Quarterback

Philip Rivers
$7,800 vs 49ers

The 49ers have allowed 905 passing yards and 8 touchdowns through 3 weeks. They rank 6th worst against the position in the NFL. Through the first 3 weeks, Rivers has thrown for 906 yards and 8 touchdowns. Rivers is in a prime spot at home against a defense that has been poor against the pass. The 49ers are in a letdown spot as well after losing Jimmy Garoppolo to a torn ACL. The Chargers have scored 9 red zone touchdowns this season. 7 of those 9 scores have come on passes from Rivers. The Chargers have shown a willingness to pass the ball in the red zone and that should continue in week 4.

Baker Mayfield
$6,900 at Raiders

The Raiders have been middle of the pack against opposing quarterbacks, coming out 12th worst, according to  DailyRoto.com. The Raiders are allowing 19.29 QB points through 3 weeks. The main reason to love Mayfield in this spot is his price point. If he scores 21, slightly over the average against the Raiders so far this season, Mayfield will return 3 times his value. You will not find a cheaper starting option with more weapons than what Mayfield will have at his disposal. Mayfield put up 200+ yards passing in essentially 1 half of play and looked poised and confident. We also can’t forget that he is a very capable runner.

Runningback

Ezekiel Elliott
$8,200 vs Lions

Ezekiel ElliottThe Detroit Lions are allowing 26.87 fantasy points per game to running backs. Week 4 only gets more difficult for them. Elliott is coming off a dominant game where he ran for 127 yards on just 16 carries. For the Cowboys to win they need to give the ball to Elliott as much as possible. The Cowboys play at home which should benefit their defense. Zeke entered the season with 25 touchdowns in 25 games, after 3 weeks in 2018, he has 27 touchdowns in 28 games. With the Lions run defense as bad as it is, 100 rushing yards and a touchdown are not out of the question.

Giovani Bernard
$6,400 at Falcons

The Falcons are one of the most injured defenses in the NFL. Week 1 saw Keanu Neal and Deion Jones get injured and this past week saw Ricardo Allen injured and lost for the season. Over the last 2 weeks, the Falcons defense has allowed 28 catches for 233 yards to opposing running backs. Bernard’s best asset is as a pass catcher. In week 3, Bernard was used as an every down workhorse. He was on the field for 57 of 65 snaps (88%). The Bengals offense has been operating at a high level this season and the matchup screams value for Bernard.

Wide Receiver

Odell Beckham Jr.
$8,600 vs Saints

The Saints have been the worst team against receivers by far, allowing 47.3 points per game. OBJ has dominated 2 of 3 games but has yet to find the end zone. I think that changes this week. The Saints have surrendered 312 yards on 17 catches to opposing teams number 1 receiver. They have also been beaten deep on a regular basis. OBJ is due for a truly dominant performance and the writing is on the wall for him to finish as this weeks WR1.

Jarvis Landry
$7,000 at Raiders

When Baker Mayfield entered the game Jarvis Landry had 6 targets, 1 catch, and 12 yards. Once Mayfield took over Landry dominated. He received 9 more targets and caught 7 of them for 91 yards. Landry’s skill set fits with Mayfield’s accuracy perfectly. $7,000 for Landry feels like a steal this week. As for the Raiders, they are the 3rd worst team against wide receiver through 3 weeks. Landry has yet to catch a touchdown but with Mayfield under center, Landry vaults into a potential weekly WR1.

Tight End

Zach Ertz
$7,000 at Titans

The options are limited at an already shallow position. I am going to spend up this week for a top tight end. In the return of Carson Wentz, Zach Ertz was able to catch 5 balls for 73 yards. Ertz has led the team in receiving yards in all 3 games so far and he has always been a favorite weapon of Wentz. I expect that to continue in week 4. Wentz finished the season last year with 33 touchdown passes. He threw a lot of touchdowns from inside the red zone and that is something that should contribute to a nice week for Ertz.

Here’s to hoping your week 4 is as successful as the Browns week 3 but without the losing streak that followed their last win.
