Top Comments:

On Leonard William’s Performance (or lack thereof):

Its ok though, he’s really opening up the lanes for other guys to make plays. Apparently its cool to be a freaking traffic cone and still get praise. I’m done sticking up for Leo, at some point he’s got to do something of substance besides take on blockers.

-jbigs07

On How to Properly Utilize Leonard Williams:

Personally I think they are using Leo wrong

Plus he gets double teamed all the time. Put him in a 4-3 with at least one other stud and he would be wrecking havoc.

-Barryfromjc

On Darnold’s Strengths and Weaknesses:

Darnold is a very weird player under pressure for me

On one hand, he evades pressure wonderfully. On the other hand, he makes very bad decisions after he does that. It was the same way in college. His ability to reset after being rushed is going to be key. Other option is to run a quick hitter offense, but that feels like it’ll neuter all the things that make him great. Maybe worth a look though

-IMissFatRex

On Ideas of How to Fix the Jets Offense:

I have a good one

Tell Terrelle Pryor to get comfortable on the bench

-Michael Nania

On a potential fit for Bell (lets hope not):

I could see Belichick taking a flyer on Bell

Heard on NFL Radio today that the Pats are having trouble in their running game. If the hoodie wants to make another run this year while Brady and Gronk are still around and with Edelman returning soon, he might be willing to roll the dice. I think Bell would be receptive to playing with the Pats for another shot at a ring as well. The only question is whether the Steelers would be willing to deal with the Pats.

-PenningToon

On Whether or Not we Should Trade for Bell:

Conflicted

We can get great value out of that position at a lower price, or use that money to sign other players. but that means you actually have to draft well and sign the right guys. We are also a team devoid of talent, and Bell has a ton of it. Guy can be a matchup problem with Enunwa out there doing just about everything. Guy just wants to get paid and rightfully so. We give them a 3rd or a 4th rounder I wouldn’t be that upset.

-jets4life24

On Why We Shouldn’t Overreact to the Loss to the Browns:

Man, the freakout is real. Only been 3 weeks

And the Jets lost to a talented Browns roster , especially on defense with a defensive coordinator that’s known to give vets a hard time (see Brees) much less a fresh rookie. Who btw is leading an organization, at 21, with less degree of talent around him, relatively speaking on a short week, 3 games in 11 days that is also tough for experienced QBs. You guys are already trying to use it indicative of culture hasn’t changed. When the roster stayed competitive in games all last year. It’s not gonna change over night. There is promise, stuff in the pot that’s cooking, give it little more time. 2019 should be good influx of established talent. I understand if AFTER you have talented offense and a vet QB..still struggling (see Giants) ..but now isn’t time to flat out bail over one bad game against a loaded team desperate for a win after they hadn’t in a year and a half. It’s been 50+ yrs, what’s one more?

-NYJG

On Stewart Clearing Waivers:

Best News I Heard All Day

Knowing our last year 3rd round pick is not wanted on any other team

-Scoop of Chrebet

On whether or not the Jets should play aggressively with the current roster:

I think the opposite is true

A poorly talented team needs to be aggressive to maximize its chances. We see aggression working to the advantage of the lesser opponent all the time in college football. When did a small school ever beat a powerhouse by being passive? I can’t think of any. They do it through taking risks on 4th down and 2 point conversions, by digging deep into the playbook, and by attacking on defense instead of sitting back and watching the offense chew up their zones. Hell, they even teach this in the military. We were taught to attack immediately when ambushed. Why? You make the enemy react to you. If you have a superior team, you can be conservative because, all things being equal, your players will execute their assignments consistently and effectively. Then you can let the opponent make all the mistakes. But if you have little at your disposal, you have to be disruptive and create something out of nothing.

-Ivan Holmes

On why Kearse is needed on the Jets’ offense:

I’ve seen people crap on Kearse calling him a scrub and what not. Why? Because he’s not a true #1 receiver? I’ve always liked this guy. Sure he’s not a great player, but all 53 players on your team can’t be superstars. You need guys like Kearse.
