Hottest Take of the Week: Recapping week 3 and OH LORDY JORDY

Matub looks at the lingering takes from Week 3 of the NFL season.

This week there was a serious lack of takes to come from what are usually credible sources. In the event of such a drought, Matub is forced to talk about takes from average sources. This week those include opinions on Randall Cobb, Kevin King, and Jordy Nelson.

However, Matub begins in a predictable manner: another Clay Matthews roughing penalty. Clay was flagged again while a worse hit on Aaron Rodgers went un-flagged. Is it fair to call this the “Aaron Rodgers Rule” when Aaron doesn’t get the benefit? The competition committee met and released a statement saying the enforcement will continue as it has. Matub shows his displeasure at this announcement.

Randall Cobb had a very poor showing against Washington last week. This means that the usual crowd of people who want him cut are out in full force once again. Matub comes to his defense.

Kevin King was out again. This means that the TJ Watt “I told you so” brigade was in Matub’s mentions once again. But how did TJ Watt play? Not very well. King also remains important to the future of the Packers’ secondary.

Randall Cobb’s performance is juxtaposed with an amazing one by Jordy Nelson in Oakland. Does this mean the wrong wide receiver was kept in Green Bay? Matub doesn’t think so.

Matub closes by one-upping his previous bet against the spread with a potential donation to Aaron Rodgers’ favorite charity. Will this be the week the Packers finally win against the spread?
