Season 2 is here, and this time: They’ve got chairs.
The Detroit Lions 2018 season hasn’t produced much to get excited about. It’s obviously still early, but it feels like the season is spiraling out of control and we haven’t even gotten out of September yet.
Happiness for Lions fans is few and far between, so we must cling to the good things in life as to not be overwhelmed by the bad. Thankfully, veteran offensive lineman T.J. Lang is able to provide a little light amidst the dark with the return of his webseries “Talkin’ With T.J.”
If you missed it last year, Lang interviews teammates, grills them with trivia questions, and typically makes fun of them a little, too. Last season was responsible for running gags like Matthew Stafford being too cheap to buy chairs for his show, and Lang snubbing Haloti Ngata every week as a guest.
This season, the show kicks off with Lang’s fellow linemate, rookie Frank Ragnow. It’s a little more subdued than previous episodes, but Lang still brings it with some dry humor. Check it out here.
- Stafford made a lot of bad throws last week, but this good throw wasn’t appreciated enough. Thankfully, Dan Orlovsky broke it down:
Well, this is a special throw by a special talent-and I’m not gonna lie-I feel I saw a little bit of this last night from Baker Baker the TD Maker ..@PrideOfDetroit @MikeOHaraNFL @Lions @thelionswire #NFLPartnet #NFLGamePass The @nfl is in good QB hands pic.twitter.com/wRa4xwGcMt

- Lions head coach Matt Patricia broke down Patriots film to show what makes Rob Gronkowski, James White and Trey Flowers so dangerous on Sundays.
- No surprise, but LeGarrette Blount was fined for his sideline shove that got him ejected from the 49ers game last week:
#Lions RB LeGarrette Blount, who was ejected last week, was fined $10,026 for unnecessary roughness, source said. Nothing for #49ers LB Elijah Lee, who was also involved.

- DetroitLions.com has a very cool new documentary series that follows Lions players off the field, focusing on their hobbies and family. The series kicks off with the highly entertaining Marvin Jones Jr.
- Uh oh:
Several Patriot players told me Tom Brady was "in a mood" and "irritated" this week. He was displeased with the overall execution Sunday and wants to make sure that doesn't carry over to Detroit Sunday night. #Patriots

- Former Lions tight end Joseph Fauria had a lot of things to say about his former team this week. Some good, some not so good.
