PFF top five graded Raiders in week three

Each week Pro Football Focus releases it’s player ratings for every team in the NFL. If you haven’t checked the site out yet, I encourage you to do so. It is loaded with tons of stats and information for you analytic crazed fans out there.

While the grades may not tell the whole story about a players performance it does shed some light on some of the things teams and players are doing well and not so well.

Marshawn Lynch- 83.9

Beast mode found the end zone for the third straight game to go along with 64 hard earned yards on 19 attempts.

Lynch’s season grade is an 81.6 which ranks him second among NFL running backs.

Jordy Nelson- 80.9

Jordy Nelson had his breakout game as a Raider with a monster game. Nelson and quarterback Derek Carr hooked up for gains of 61 and 66 yards, in addition to a 12-yard touchdown.

Nelson hauled in a team high 6 balls for 173 yards.

Arden Key- 80.2

Key saw a season low 19 snaps in week three. Although he did not see much action he was fairly efficient with his opportunities.

While only playing in five run snaps he made two tackles.

Gabe Jackson- 80.1

This one is a bit of a head scratcher considering Jackson was a part of a offensive line group who was dominated by the Dolphins defense. The run game averaged only 3.4 yards per carry.

Jackson was responsible for giving up a Vincent Taylor sack in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins had three sacks in the game.

Leon Hall- 75.5

Many criticized the signing of Leon Hall for his old age, but he has been very good for the Raiders secondary.

His biggest play of the game came on a key 3rd and 5 in the fourth quarter. Hall came on a corner blitz and deflected a pass. The Raiders forced a punt and got the ball back to Derek Carr and the offense.
