Raiders among worst offensive lines in NFL in Pro Football Focus’ power rankings

And Donald Penn is rated the worst pass blocking tackle.

The week three offensive line power rankings are out and the Raiders group is exactly where they belong; near the bottom of the league.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Raiders line ranks 26th out of the 32 teams in the league. The Raiders run offense averages 98.7 yards per game (3.6 per carry). Through the air they average 302 yards per game.

The offensive line has allowed five sacks and 10 quarterback hits. One thing to keep in mind as you evaluate the groups rank as well as individual rankings is who the Raiders have played. The Rams, Broncos, and Dolphins all have formidable defenses with a great fronts.

Here is a look at each individual players grade.

LT Kolton Miller- 56.1

LG Kelechi Osemele- 54.8

C Rodney Hudson- 73.5

RG Gabe Jackson- 68

RT Donald Penn- 43.9

Penn’s transition to right tackle has not gone as smooth as Jon Gruden would have hoped. Penn is the lowest graded pass-blocking tackle in the league, according to PFF. On the season he has allowed two sacks, two hits and four hurries.

Rodney Hudson continues to be the bright spot of the offensive line. Hudson ranks 5th at his position. The strength of Hudson’s game has been as a pass blocker, PFF has graded him out with an 88.8, which is the best in the league.

Although his grade of 56.1 may not reflect it, through three weeks, Kolton Miller is looking the part of solid starting left tackle. The selection of Miller early in the first round came with a lot of criticism from Raiders faithful. Miller is yet to give up a sack and has only allowed four hurries.
