Rams Rookie Report: Week 4

Whether it be spot snaps or Special Teams, most of the rooks are finally contributing!

The Los Angeles Rams shined brightly under the Thursday Night Football lights, defeating the Minnesota Vikings by a 48-31 margin.

The Goff-ense was absolutely masterful. Three receivers eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark (Cooper Kupp, 162, Brandin Cooks, 116, & Robert Woods, 101). The same three added at least one TD (Kupp had dos TDs). Running back Todd Gurley added on another 83 rushing yards, 73 receiving yards, & a receiving TD.

The troubles lied with the defense. The linebackers were continuously exposed. Reserve CB Sam Shields definitely showed rust in his first start in over two years. Lastly, Marcus Peters did not seem anywhere near 100-percent. Shit, not even 75%.

Without further ado, here is your rookie report card:

Report Card

DE/OLB John Franklin-Myers

Rookie EDGE JFM continues to go through the ups and downs of his freshman season, but the Stephen F. Austin-product got to Kirk Cousins for a strip sack late in the game – the first sack of the season for Franklin-Myers.

John will continue the rotation at OLB. Excited to see the new No. 94 rack up some more sacks.

Grade: B

ILB Micah Kiser

Slowly but surely, inside linebacker Micah Kiser is working his way into the game-day rotation. Week 4 play time came via special teams.

Keep an eye out for Kiser. Especially if Mark Barron keeps missing time and Ramik Wilson continues playing poorly

Grade: C-

EDGE Justin Lawler

Saw Lawler in for the special teams portions. If the EDGE rushers continue to not get to the QB, Lawler might be seeing some extended play.

Grade: C-

EDGE Trevon Young

Trevon Young not only made his way off the pre-game inactives list, but he logged in his first two snaps on defense as well.

Grade: C-

OT Joe Noteboom

Big Andrew Whit took every snap at LT. Right tackle was manned by Big Rob Havenstein all Thursday night. At guard, both Rodger Saffold and Austin Blythe played the game’s entirety.

So in short, Noteboom was not of service in the Week 4 showdown. Lets keep it that way, I would like to see the extent of Joe’s readiness, however, in case of any emergency.

Grade: N/A Incomplete

C Brian Allen

Like Noteboom, Allen’s snapping services were not needed.

Grade: N/A Incomplete

EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo

Obo still is on the PUP List. We cannot wait until he is fully healthy and ready to go.

Okoronkwo would be nice to toss into the EDGE rotation along with JFM.

Grade: N/A Incomplete

RB John Kelly

Another day, another inactives list appearance.

Grade: N/A Incomplete

DL Sebastian Joseph-Day

Game-day inactive, playa!

Grade: N/A Incomplete

That is it for this week, folks! Catch us next week.
