Saturday Slop: Redskins vs Packers

A look at the top stories as the Redskins get ready for the Green Bay Packers

Adrian Peterson needs more patience as he adapts to the Redskins | ESPN

Peterson admits he must be more patient, especially out of the shotgun. On his first carry out of the shotgun Sunday, he sprinted immediately on his path, following pulling guard Shawn Lauvao. But he was tight on Lauvao’s heels, and because he went so fast, nothing had yet opened up and the linebackers didn’t have to commit one way or another. No room meant no yards.

Redskins reportedly cut Perriman and promote Bibbs | NBC Washington

As a corresponding move, the Redskins promoted running back Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. He was very close to making the team when they did the final roster cuts, but he was caught in a numbers game. He will take the running back spot vacated when Rob Kelley was moved to injured reserve earlier this week.

Questionable are WR Maurice Harris (concussion), WR Paul Richardson (shoulder), and LB Zach Brown (oblique).

When he returns to action Perine intends to be a more aggressive runner | NBC Sports

“Picking a hole and hitting it full speed,” he responded when asked what quality No. 26 has that he wants to replicate. “My thing is I try to be a little too patient. With him, he’s patient, but once he sees it, it’s zero to 100. With me, I’m like zero, 50 then 100.”

A quick learner, Roullier prepares to a return at LG | Redskins.com

“Yeah I mean it’s always a little bit of a transition. It’s something I definitely have to get back in the swing of, but I did play so much guard in college and I’ve even been mixing it a little bit during the year this year,” Roullier said. “It’s been pretty smooth, obviously there are a little bit of growing pains here and there, things I need to get better at technique-wise because I haven’t been necessarily doing those techniques in such a long time so, I definitely need to work on those but for the most part the feeling of it is coming back.”

Redskins Keys to the Game versus the Packers | Fanspeak.com

If the Redskins want to stay on the field, they need to stay ahead of the chains. This is an ideal game to feature the short passing game. It was a point of contention with fans (with some good reason) after the loss to the Colts a week ago, but it is the right way to attack the Packers and keep the offense on the field.
