Back with another episode. Got some feedback about last weeks episode. That’s my bad, I didn’t know the background was that bad. Also, you guys want more structure, so I attempt to tackle that. Start out by tackling the coaching mistakes. One mistake by Anthony Lynn was him deciding to kick a field goal with just under 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
One mistake from Ken Whisenhunt was him not involving Austin Ekeler more. That doesn’t mean you have to take touches away from Melvin Gordon. When a player is averaging 10 yards a touch, you probably want to give him more than seven touches. When you aren’t getting production from your perimeter threats, you probably want to work the middle of the field. Thought this might be a week we see Gordon and Ekeler involved in the passing game and that just didn’t happen.
One mistake from Gus Bradley was not designing new blitz looks. Now that I’ve had a chance to re-watch the game him thinking he could get away with playing Jahleel Addae and Adrian Phillips as linebackers was a big mistake as well. Just because the Rams were in spread looks didn’t mean that they are solely going to pass the ball.
I go in depth on those issues. Also showed some love to Mike Williams, who has impressed. Finally, tell you why it’s not time to panic. Not yet, anyways.
Enjoy!
