Week 3 Patriots Friday injury report: Rob Gronkowski, Deatrich Wise, Sony Michel are fully healthy!

The Patriots are preparing for the Detroit Lions.

The New England Patriots released their final injury report of week 3 as they prepare to face the Detroit Lions. There are some big changes for New England, with a tight end declared OUT for the game.

OUT

Patriots: TE Jacob Hollister (chest)

Lions: OL Andrew Donnal (knee)

Both teams have declared a player out and Hollister will miss his second game over the first three weeks of the season. Hollister was a new addition to the injury report on Friday, so hopefully the injury isn’t long-term.

Doubtful

Patriots: S Patrick Chung (concussion), DE Trey Flowers (concussion)

Both of these Patriots players are unlikely to play and that means bigger roles for Duron Harmon and Derek Rivers, respectively. There’s a chance they could clear the concussion protocol ahead of the game, but players with the “doubtful” tag rarely play.

Questionable

Patriots: OT Marcus Cannon (calf), CB Keion Crossen (hamstring), S Nate Ebner (hip), WR Josh Gordon (hamstring), CB Eric Rowe (groin)

Lions: CB Darius Slay (concussion), DE Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder), LB Eli Harold (hip), OG T.J. Lang (back), WR Marvin Jones (ankle), TE Michael Roberts (knee)

All of these players should be game-time decisions. LaAdrian Waddle should start in Cannon’s place, while Jason McCourty could get his first start at cornerback over Rowe. Ebner’s availability will be important with Chung doubtful since Chung backs up Ebner on some special teams packages.

Gordon has a chance to play in his first week with the Patriots and his availability is probably more related to how well he’s picked up the playbook.

Removed from Report

Patriots: TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle), RB Sony Michel (knee), DE Deatrich Wise (finger)

Lions: CB Jamal Agnew (shoulder), OT Taylor Decker (not injury related)

All players should be available, which is a boon for New England. Gronkowski and Michel will be important with Hollister sidelined, while Wise should have a big role if Flowers doesn’t play.
