7 Players to Consider in FanDuel Cash Games Week 7

Fanduel Week 7

As normal, this week of football is started with a Thursday Night Football game.  This week, that matchup is the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals. As usual, the Thursday night, Sunday night, and Monday night games are not part of the main slate. Add in, the Chargers vs Titans game in London and that is 8 teams that are already off-limits in the main slate for cash games. Week 7 also brings the first week of byes with more than 2 teams on a bye. The Packers, Raiders, Steelers, and Seahawks are all off this week. With 12 teams unavailable to the main slate, roster construction could be very difficult this week. I am here in week 7 to try and make things a little easier for you and your cash game lineups.

Recommended DFS Tools:

  • Daily Roto – Daily Roto has Redzone data, snap counts, targets, and an awesome Lineup optimizer
  • The Quant Edge – TQE has a WR/CB matchup tool that’ll be perfect for WR Start/Sits.
  • MyBookie –  Sports betting lines like over/under are very underrated in daily fantasy sports

Quarterback

Jared Goff
$8,300 at 49ers

Jared Goff had a slow week in week 6 as he amassed just 201 passing yards and failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time this season. Prior to week 6, Goff had thrown for more than 320 yards in 4 straight games, averaging 373.5 yards per game during that stretch with 10 touchdowns. In week 7, Goff gets a 49ers defense that has allowed 291.7 passing yards per game this season. The same 49ers defense has allowed 14 touchdowns while intercepting one pass in the first 6 games. According to DailyRoto, the 49ers defense has allowed the 6th most points to quarterbacks this season as well. They are also coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Packers. The entire team is at risk of a major letdown after their last game.

Joe Flacco
$7,500 vs Saints

The Saints pass defense has been one to attack throughout 2018. Week 7 is no different. The Saints allow the 3rd most points to quarterbacks on the season, while they are difficult to run on. The Ravens do not have a great running game and they are ready to throw the football all over the field. Joe Flacco is averaging 44 pass attempts per game. He has had fewer than 40 pass attempts in only two games this season and both were blowouts. Flacco has also had 2 games with 50+ pass attempts, which were both of their losses. The Saints have a great offense which could lead to Flacco being forced to air it out to keep up with the Saints.

Runningback

Kerryon Johnson
$6,500 at Dolphins

Kerryon Johnson has been the best back for the Lions through their first 5 games. He is averaging 5.7 yards per carry and has shown great vision and explosiveness. There is some concern about LeGarrette Blount taking touches and red zone work from Johnson. Blount is averaging a career-worst 2.5 yards per carry and only has 2 more red zone touches than Johnson. I expect that during the Lions bye week, Matt Patricia and Jim Bob Cooter watched some film and understood that the offense is better with Johnson on the field. I expect Johnson to run away with the lead back role starting this week. Combining this with the Dolphins struggles at stopping running backs, 6th worst, Johnson could be in for another big week in the backfield in week 7.

Tarik Cohen
$6,600 vs Patriots

Finding running backs is tough this week. The best defensive matchups seem to be split backfields. I am going back to the bank with Cohen in week 7. He has been red hot in his last two games with 7 catches and a touchdown in each game. In those same two games, he is averaging 147.5 yards per game. The Patriots have allowed an average of 6 catches for 57.3 yards to running backs on the season.

Week Jordan Howard Tarik Cohen
1 71.43% 40%
2 72.73% 31.82%
3 62.16% 40.54%
4 54.10% 47.54%
5 BYE BYE
6 51.43% 48.57%

However, over the last two games, the Patriots have allowed 17 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown. The Patriots have been susceptible to pass-catching backs this season. That is something that Cohen excels at and Matt Nagy is scheming ways to get Cohen the ball. Utilizing DailyRoto’s snap count page, Cohen’s snap counts have been on the rise since week 3. Here is a look at Cohen’s snap count percentage vs Jordan Howard since week 1. Cohen is in a nice spot to produce again with Jordan Howard struggling and the Bears most likely needing to pass to keep up.

Wide Receiver

Adam Thielen
$8,700 at Jets

I am going all in on the hottest receiver in football again this week. 6 straight weeks of 100 yards receiving is not an accident. Adam Thielen has double-digit targets in every game and has scored in 4 of 6 games this year as well. It is safe to say that Thielen is matchup proof. The beauty of the selection this week is that he does not have a difficult matchup. Thielen will square off on the slot, where he runs 54.5% of his routes, with Buster Skrine. Skrine has been attacked this season and has struggled. When also looking at red zone opportunities provided by DailyRoto, Thielen has been the dominant option in the red zone, seeing 9 opportunities compared to 4 for the next closest. Thielen’s usage suggests his targets and production is not going to be cut into. Fire him up in week 7 and reap the rewards.

Jarvis Landry
$6,500 at Buccaneers

Jarvis Landry is a guy that most people are going to lift their nose to at this point of the season. He has struggled to produce the numbers that we all expected from him. The switch to Baker Mayfield has not provided the statistical bump that I expected. However, Landry is still seeing plenty of targets, as he has seen 10, 10, and 9 over the last 3 games. This is the matchup that Landry and the Browns passing attack needs to get right. The Bucs are giving up the second most points to receivers on the season. The Buccaneers defense has given up 50 catches for 631 yards through 5 games to opposing teams top receivers. Landry is still the Browns best receiving weapon and should get the work yet again. Checking out The Quant Edge’s WR/CB Matchup tool Landry, 64.2% of routes from the slot, will be matched up with M.J. Stewart. Stewart has allowed 19 catches on 21 targets and 3 touchdowns. If Landry can’t produce in week 7, then it may be time to call it day on Landry being a top receiver in 2018.

Tight End

David Njoku
$5,700 at Buccaneers

Yes, I am doing it. I am somehow recommending two players from the Cleveland Browns to be in a lineup together. This has more to do with the matchup than my belief in the Browns offense but that does not matter here. The Bucs have been the worst team in the NFL against opposing tight ends. Over their last 4 games, they have allowed 27 catches for 370 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mayfield has made Njoku a focal point of his passing game by throwing to him 23 times in the last 2 games. With the lack of receiving depth the Browns currently have, Njoku’s target share is not going anywhere.

Week 7 promises to have some challenges with so many teams unavailable for the main slate. Hopefully, these guys produce for you and give you an edge over your competition. Good Luck and comment with your own cash game favorites for week 7.
