Bears-Patriots the most expensive football game of the weekend

Tom Brady is coming to town this weekend, which means that the demand for Bears tickets has skyrocketed.

Sooner or later, one of the greatest players to ever play the game of football will have to hang up his cleats. That said, this Sunday’s matchup against the Chicago Bears could be the final time that he ever plays at Soldier Field, and the prices of this week’s game reflect that.

According to ticket marketplace website TickPick, the “get-in price” for the Bears-Patriots game is $365, by far the most expensive football game of the weekend, college or professional. The price for this week’s game is a whole 116 percent higher than Chicago’s matchup next week against the New York Jets. It also surpasses prices of marquee college football games, including No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 16 North Carolina State ($161 get-in) and No. 5 LSU vs. No. 22 Mississippi State ($39 get-in).

Any time that a legend like Tom Brady comes to town, the demand for tickets rises, causing an increase in prices. The Bears and Patriots also both project as playoff contenders, so the overall quality of the game is much higher than that of most of Chicago’s matchups for the remainder of the year.
