Chicago Bears trade rumors

Trade rumors are fairly quiet around the Chicago Bears, but Leonard Floyd’s name has popped up...

The NFL trade deadline is tomorrow (10/30) at 3:00 p.m. Central time, and while I don’t expect the Chicago Bears to make any moves, general manager Ryan Pace will no doubt be working the phones right up until the last second.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports has reported that teams have inquired about Bears’ outside linebacker Leonard Floyd. I find it unlikely that any team would give up enough to pry Floyd from Chicago, not because his value is too high, but because the Bears simply do not have enough depth behind Floyd at this time. Even though he’s yet to record a sack, he’s playing decent football and he brings some versatility for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

The Jordan Howard rumor popped up again a couple weeks ago, but when you consider the make up of the Bears’ roster at running back, moving him makes no sense. Tarik Cohen may be a better scheme fit, but he’s not a better pure running back. Howard may be moved in a trade, but if it happens, the offseason is when it will go down.

The injury to Kyle Long could prompt the Bears to look for a veteran offensive guard, but having the experienced Eric Kush healthy should provide the same thing.

Former first round pick, wide out Kevin White, is still toiling away as a reserve, and could probably be had for the right price.

If any fresh rumors pop up we’ll share them right here.
