Jets offered Bridgewater, Jaguars showed “no interest”

The Jacksonville Jaguars were reportedly contacted by the New York Jets when they began shopping backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater around at the end of the preseason.

That’s according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, who said a Day 2 pick was too high a price for the Jaguars who are currently on a four-game losing streak.

The Jaguars made no attempts to upgrade around Bortles prior to the start of the season despite having numerous opportunities to do so via trades and signings. The Jets, league sources said, reached out to Jacksonville when they began to shop promising back-up quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, making the QB readily available. But the Jaguars displayed no interest in acquiring him. Bridgewater was viewed as an emerging potential franchise quarterback prior to suffering a serious knee injury in Minnesota and was dealt to New Orleans for essentially a third-round pick.

Was Blake Bortles the only problem today in London? No.

Did he sail a half-dozen check down passes and have a bad first half that set his defense up to play tired for the second half of the game? Yup.

Go Jaguars.
