Rams-Packers overreactions: Reynolds has arrived!

Rams fans have a lot of opinions about Sunday’s victory, but are they too reactionary or not enough?

Best Overreaction

WR Josh Reynolds’ breakout game has signaled that he has arrived and can take a bigger role in the offense.

Even though I agree with this, it’s obviously an overreaction because Reynolds only had 3 receptions for 42 yards, it’s just that two of those catches were in the end zone. The thing is, a wide reciever’s producvity is largely based on confidence that originates with the play calling and extends to the quarterback’s choice to target that specific receiver (getting open helps too). Guys like WR Cooper Kupp, WR Robert Woods, and WR Brandin Cooks have that confidence and Reynolds is well on his way — and this game was big step to his arrival as a significant role player in the Rams’ offense. What’s enticing about Josh Reynolds is that he’s a big target (6’3”) that can make a difference in the red zone. Would Coach McVay throw out 4 WRs on a couple plays to change things up? I’d like to see that.

Worst Overreaction

Rams fans who sold their tickets to Green Bay fans are “fake fans” because they should only sell their tickets to Rams fans.

There’s not a lot in sports that we can control. We like to think that’s not true, but think about it, when a player gets traded or when a fan favorite screws up, we just have to make peace with it. And that’s also true with attendance at home games. So, there was a lot of Packers fans at the game and somehow that’s the fault of ticket sellers? I think that’s a stretch — it’s the market and hundreds of things we don't have control over. The Green Bay Packers have a national fanbase that travels well; they’re willing to pay high prices for tickets. Don’t like it? Then buy those tickets!

What was great about Sunday’s game was that loud Rams fans showed up and we won. We’re undefeated. We’re the best damn team in the NFL. There’s no need for shame. Los Angeles is a transplant city with fans from every NFL team, it’s part of a reality that we can’t control. But we can be louder with the right attitude, like this guy!
