2019 NFL Draft order: Giants drop to No. 3 overall

Victory means Giants no longer own draft’s first pick

The good news is that the New York Giants won a football game on Monday night. The bad news, at least for those more concerned about the 2019 NFL Draft order than 2018 on-field results, is that the Giants no longer own the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

The 27-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers improved the Giants’ record to 2-7 and dropped their spot in the draft order to No. 3 overall. The 1-8 Oakland Raiders currently own the top pick.

Here is the current top six. The percentage is the winning percentage of opponents played. In breaking ties, the lower opponents’ winning percentage gives that team the higher pick, which is why the Giants are ahead of the Arizona Cardinals.

Oakland Raiders (1-8, .553)
San Francisco 49ers (2-8, .503)
Giants (2-7 — .517)
Arizona Cardinals (2-7, .533)
New York Jets (3-7, .487)
Buffalo Bills (3-7, .520)

In terms of Draft Power Rankings, tracked by Tankathon, the Giants are also No. 3 behind the Raiders and 49ers. The rankings assign a value to every pick in the draft and ranks teams based on the sum of their pick values. The values for each pick were determined by the Jimmy Johnson trade value chart.

The Giants’ current picks are Nos. 3, 36, 100, 126, 130, 131, 164, 195, 214.
