An update on the teams in the division.
Another week is down in the NFL season which means it is a good time for an AFC East Roundup to get up to date on everything that is happening so far with the teams. Some are trending up while others are trending way down.
They are bad.
The Patriots are getting into their groove after their usual slow start to the season. They now have key victories against the Kansas City Chiefs and now the Green Bay Packers. Their defense is average but they make big plays when they count whether it be a pick-six against the Bills on Monday night to seal it, or a late forced fumble against the Packers when they were trying to lead their comeback. Their offense is coming together nicely even with Rob Gronkowski dealing with nagging injuries again but the team has shown countless times that they can win without him.
These two teams are grouped together this week due to the fact that they played each other on Sunday. The Dolphins came away with the victory do to their defense intercepting rookie Sam Darnold four times on the afternoon. The Dolphins remain in the middle of the pack and are looking to get on a role as the season progresses in hopes of stealing a wild card spot in the postseason.
The Jets on the flip side are in rebuild mode but there are a lot of good pieces in place. The team always plays hard on defense so now the key is just finding that rhythm on offense. After all, Darnold is just a rookie so the interceptions are natural as he continues to learn. For now, the focus is to get him weapons on offense and hopes that he developed into the franchise player that they hope he becomes.
