An analysis of the Baltimore Beatdown staff picks

Consensus winners

After dismantling Philadelphia, New Orleans offense will continue to feast on Thanksgiving Day against an lackluster Atlanta squad. The Raiders secured just their second win of the year in Week 11. But with the Ravens snapping their skid against Cincinnati, Oakland should be an easy task at home. Fresh off a bye, New England will be looking to distance themselves from an embarrassing showing against the Titans, and the Jets will get caught in the cross hairs of a hungry Patriots team.

The Chargers were shocked by Denver in the final seconds of Week 11. However, Arizona is disaster, most recently losing to a one win Raiders team. Even with Ryan Tannehill returning, the Dolphins face a Colts squad that is a much stronger opponent than their .500 record suggests. The Steelers came from behind to knock off Jacksonville, and Ben Roethlisberger continues to find ways to lead Pittsburgh into the win column, even when he struggles. Tennessee is a roller coaster franchise, defeating the Patriots one week and then getting thrashed by Indianapolis the next. Deshaun Watson and the Texans are the opposite, as they look to extend their win streak to eight games.

‘Lone wolf’ picks

  • Vas is the only writer to pick the Bills to beat the Jaguars (JAX -3.0)

The Jaguars are spiraling, most recently giving up 14 points in the fourth quarter to let Pittsburgh erase a deficit for the victory. While Buffalo was able to dominant the Jets with Matt Barkley at quarterback, the Jaguars defense should be able to contain an offense that lacks a consistent identity.

All writers’ picks can be found in the table below.
