Bucs are favored in this Week 10 matchup.
The 3-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hosting the 5-3 Washington Redskins in a crucial NFC matchup. Both teams, especially the Buccaneers could really use a win to possibly jump start the second half of the season.
Tampa Bay, who will be playing only their fourth home game of the season are favorites in this game for only the second time all season. The Buccaneers have lost 5 of their last 6 games, but are 2-1 at home.
In no way am I a professional gambler and in no way am I telling you to put your money with what I predict. This is really just for fun and something we here at Bucs Nation thought the readers would enjoy after sports gambling was legalized. This is by far my favorite article to write throughout the week.
For those that don’t know sports gambling, I will quickly go over the three main bets that are often placed. Also, the lines could always change and the website you use, could be different from mine.
Betting with the spread: Currently, the Buccaneers are -3. This means that if you were to take the Buccaneers with the spread, they have to win by 4 in order for you to cash in. If you take the Redskins at +3 , they can lose by 2 points and you would hit. It is also possible for you to push this week. If the game ends in a Buccaneers victory by 3, everyone gets their money back if you took the spread. Spread bets always have the same odds, which are -110. This means that you need to risk $110 to win $100. To open the week, this spread was a pickem’, so we have seen professional gambler bet heavy all week on the bucs.
Money line bets: As of late Saturday night, the Buccaneers are anywhere from -155 to -160, depending on the website or sportsbook you use. That means you would need to risk $160 dollars in order to make $100 if the Buccaneers did win. The Redskins range from +135 to +140. Not bad odds for a 5-3 team. A $100 dollar bet would win you $135 dollars.
Over/Under bets: Again, no matter what way you pick, the odds in this case are -110. Vegas sports books currently have the over under at 50 ½ total points scored. If you take the over, the Bucs and Redskins must combined to score 51 points in order for you to win. Obviously, 50 points or under would result in a win if you go that route.
Another week, another .500 record. I am currently 8-8 on the season and have yet to fall below the .500 mark at any point.
A few things to consider: Total has gone UNDER in four of the last five games Washington has played on the road. The total has also gone UNDER in 9 of the last 12 games Washington has played overall. Tampa Bay is 7-2 ATS in it’s last 9 games against Washington when playing at home.
My picks: I like Tampa Bay -3. The Redskins are a banged up football team and this is a game the Buccaneers need to have otherwise the rest of the games don’t mean a thing. The Bucs play better football at home. Expect the defense to show some type of life tomorrow vs four back up offensive lineman. Surprisingly, I like the under in this game. Washington doesn’t have that offensive firepower and I think their defense is solid enough to slow down the Buccaneers a bit. So to recap, under 50 ½ and Bucs -3.
