Carson, McDougald, Fluker all game-time decisions vs. Rams

https://ift.tt/2z6DkGJ

The Seattle Seahawks injury report is ridiculously long, whereas the Los Angeles Rams’ injury report is literally blank. I think that largely sums up the fears about how competitive this weekend’s game will be.

Anyway, of importance to us is the status of running back Chris Carson (hip), right guard D.J. Fluker (calf), and strong safety Bradley McDougald (knee). Those are all extremely important starters on both sides of the ball, and according to Pete Carroll, all of them are game-time decisions. They all sat out Wednesday and Thursday practices, although this article has been published before their Friday session.

If Carson can’t go, that presumably means more touches for Mike Davis and Rashaad Penny, plus a wild C.J. Prosise could appear out of nowhere. Right guard is a bit tricky, as when Fluker missed the first two games of this season, J.R. Sweezy started in his place, while Ethan Pocic played left guard. Perhaps the same format could work this weekend if Fluker can’t play, or they move Pocic to right guard and keep Sweezy at LG. We certainly better not see Joey Hunt at RG again, though. Lastly, McDougald’s backup is Delano Hill, who did play most of the 2nd half against the Los Angeles Chargers and fared well by his standards, although having backup safeties against this Rams offense has me... a tad concerned.

We’ll update this post with a full injury report after practice is over.

Update: Only Neiko Thorpe is doubtful.
