The status of struggling Bears kicker Cody Parkey is a big deal around Chicago. Parkey missed two field goals and went 2-of-4 on extra points, with all four of his misses hitting off the uprights in Sunday’s Week 10 win over the Detroit Lions. In an attempt to fix his struggles, Parkey decided to go to Soldier Field on Wednesday night to practice his kicks ahead of the team’s big game on Sunday night against the Vikings. (The Bears typically practice at their facility 35 miles away from the stadium.) Parkey’s practice was such a big deal that WGN in Chicago sent a helicopter to provide coverage. (They were unable to film otherwise due to the Bears' practice restrictions.) Well, that’s one way to work around the situation. The 6-3 Bears are in first in the NFC North. Minnesota is behind them at 5-3-1, so this is a huge game for the division. Parkey is 13-of-18 on the season on field goals. The extra points he missed against Detroit were his first of the season.
