That did not go as planned
The Redskins streak of forcing a turnover in 14 straight games came to an end today, and so did the Redskins time at the top of the NFC East. Washington was in the game until the 3rd quarter when Amari Cooper and some bad tackling gave the Cowboys a big lead. Colt McCoy threw three interceptions today, but tried to lead the team to a comeback. That didn’t happen, and the Redskins fall to 6-5 and 2nd place in the division.

Zeke TD run, Foster is scraping to the edge as Smith stunts inside. Payne works other side of the C, leaving back side A gap wide open. Think Josh Harvey-Clemons should have filled. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/dL9Zl0y5dR

McCoy INT - trying to hit Trey Quinn on a wheel, but it's never really there. Not a good decision. Nickel corner was playing too far off to get picked by the outside route. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/HuizDt2vWA

Another angle of the McCoy INT. Was never really there. pic.twitter.com/qB1cWDK0Ue

Nice pressure from all 4 rushers here. Jon Allen stands out, splitting a double team by the LG and C and showing great strength to wrap up Prescott for the sack #Redskins pic.twitter.com/uwUWcF7Ild

3rd and short, #Redskins go back to their favorite short yardage play, power to the right. Peterson converts. pic.twitter.com/k0WnVg44sJ

Payne has got some push a couple times already today, just got his first sack, nearly made it a safety too. Keeps himself clean with hand fighting the LG, works across face of C to get to Dak, who was flushed out by Ioannidis #Redskins pic.twitter.com/q9OHB1WFJZ

Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan should thank their coverage unit for giving Dak nowhere to go while they worked their way to him for the sack. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/kpTvQBgSI5

Preston Smith too good for the Cowboys back up LT. Tim Settle got some nice push inside as well. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/oyqWtY5NsG

Preston Smith continues to play well. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Smith had seven QB pressures in the first half. That's already tied for second-most by a Redskins player in any game this season and one shy of the most, which he set in Week 6... https://t.co/p53ufF7E6E

And, yes, that 30-yard punt return by Trey Quinn was the #Redskins' longest of the year. By a lot.

This is one hell of a route by Amari Cooper, set up Dunbar with the outside release and sharp cut back inside. Dunbar fell over and Cooper ran away with no safety in the middle of the field #Redskins pic.twitter.com/5dhN4xsdzO

Simply cannot miss tackles like this and get away with it in the NFL. Moreau misses the tackle, poor play by Clinton-Dix too. Cooper just ran away from them after that. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/yeoKJqkjhA

Outstanding play by Demarcus Lawrence. Read the cut block by Moses and kept himself clean, eyes went to the QB and got his hands up quickly. pic.twitter.com/M3LBufVSvX

#Redskins ran a nice game up front with Smith stunting inside to give Allen a lane to loop around and close on Dak. Allen misses the tackle, Smith gets juked and Kerrigan never looked like chasing it down. That TD might have just finished this game. pic.twitter.com/ayrdZzJO5n
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 23, 2018
Nice throw by McCoy. #Redskins call this C.O where the outside receiver runs a bench route and the underneath receiver runs a choice stem with a mandatory out. QB reads outside CB for hi-low read, CB steps up to the C.O and McCoy hits the bench pic.twitter.com/sThoKt0XX0

Jon Allen was back in on that 4th and 1 play after leaving the field with an injury earlier. Made the tackle to save the conversion too. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/M6mnSNLWjq

McCoy's throw didn't come out clean, spiral not tight at all. Was a touch behind Mo Harris, allowing Cowboys DBs to make a play on it. pic.twitter.com/7pN8zxBmwB

Jordan Reed has every right to be furious, clear hit to the helmet and it goes uncalled. Has to be frustrating, especially for a guy with a history of concussions. pic.twitter.com/v6EBmS2qNW
