New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas put the game away Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams with an incredible 72-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. After making the play, he ran straight to the field-goal post, dug under the padding, pulled out an old flip phone and pretended to make a call. Just like former Saints star Joe Horn did back in 2003 against the New York Giants. Not surprisingly, the extravagant celebration drew a 15-yard penalty. But it also sparked quite an emotional reaction from Horn. He told Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com that he saw the honorary celebration while he was working out in Tupelo, Miss. “When I saw him bring out that cellphone it brought a tear to my eye,” Horn said. “For him to pay homage to me in that way, let me know what kind of man Michael Thomas is.” Thomas finished the game with 12 catches for 211 yards — a franchise record — and, of course, the touchdown as his Saints knocked off the last undefeated team of the 2018 season.
