Packers Monday Injury Report: Nine players skip practice on short week

With the Packers set to play on Thursday, a whole host of players took a day off on Monday.

The Green Bay Packers got the short end of the scheduling stick this week, as the team’s week ten game against the Miami Dolphins got flexed into a later time slot. That comes before an already short week, with the team having to catch a four-hour flight to the Pacific Northwest to play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night.

Furthermore, Packers players seemed to be dropping like flies again on Sunday, with several players leaving the game with various injuries. All that combined for a short-handed practice on Monday as the team began installing the game plan for Seattle with just three full days in between games.

A whopping nine players were listed as non-participants on the Monday injury report, and most of the names should come as little surprise to those who follow the team closely. Each of those players falls into one of a few categories: either they suffered an injury on Sunday (Bashaud Breeland, Kentrell Brice, Nick Perry, and Lucas Patrick), they were dealing with previous injuries (Randall Cobb, Kevin King, and Blake Martinez), or they have typically been getting practice days off (Jimmy Graham and Aaron Rodgers).

In addition, the team kept both of its starting offensive tackles on a rep count on Monday, with the two players being listed as limited.

However, do not read too much into this practice report, since the team took the field about 24 hours after beating the Dolphins and had little time to recuperate. Tuesday’s report will likely tell us much more about these players’ actual status for Thursday’s game.
