The Packers will be in Seattle on Thursday after a short week — and fans all over the country should be able to see the game on local TV.
The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a painfully short week as they prepare for their week 11 contest. The NFL scheduling department gave them a brutal draw, as they have a cross-country flight on short rest, playing in Seattle on Thursday Night Football just four days and a few hours after hosting the Miami Dolphins in week ten.
This matchup with the Seattle Seahawks is the latest in a fascinating rivalry, one that over the past decade has been dominated by the home team. In fact, it has been almost exactly ten years since the visiting team won — the Packers beat the Seahawks in Seattle on October 12, 2008.
This week’s game will be just the second time the two teams have played on a Thursday, however; the first such contest came in week one of 2014, when the Seahawks were coming off a victory in Super Bowl XLVIII. Seattle won that contest 36-16, which effectively gave them the right to host that season’s NFC Championship Game. In that game, the Packers held a 19-7 lead early in the fourth quarter before [REDACTED]. That was the last time the two teams met in Seattle, with the last three games all coming at Lambeau Field.
