Previewing the Eagles’ offense vs. the Cowboys’ defense

And Ben fell down some stairs on The Kist & Solak Show #39!

In what feels like the longest wait for meaningful action since the dead months of the summer, the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles are a little more than 48 hours away from a must win rivalry game against Dallas Cowboys. The implications are huge for both teams.

For the Cowboys, a win puts them at 24% playoff chance, according to Football Outsiders’ formula. A loss drops them to 5% and hopelessness. For the Eagles, a win elevates them to 43% and a loss drops it to a dire 18% playoff chance moving forward. Bottom line, it needs to be a statement game for the Eagles.

They have far better coaching, far better quarterbacking, and a more well-rounded, talented roster. There’s very little logical reason for them to lose this game. But that’s why they play. So, we’ll see what happens on the field. For now, all we can do is wait and agonizingly pour over every angle of this all-important game.

In Episode #38 of The Kist & Solak Show we detailed the Eagles’ defense and how they can shut down a pourous Cowboys’ offense. In this effort, episode #39, it’s all about what the Eagles’ offense and Cowboys’ defense have to offer.

How does Sean Lee being out impact the game, if at all? Is there a pass rusher to worry about outside of Demarcus Lawrence? What are the secondary match-ups to exploit? What can the Eagles’ run schematically to take advantage of the Cowboys’ tendencies and weaknesses? All that plus Solak fell down some stairs and wiped out a poor girl because that’s how the universe works.
