Prop bets are up as oddsmakers expect Ravens QB Lamar Jackson to keep running the football

In his first NFL start, Lamar Jackson broke the Ravens’ franchise record for most rushing yards by a quarterback and the NFL record for most rushing attempts by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era (27). The Ravens knew the Cincinnati Bengals couldn’t defend the run and attacked with 54 total rushing attempts totaling 265 yards.

While Marvin Lewis commented, “Quarterbacks don’t run forever in the NFL,” to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, oddsmakers from BetDSI are confident he’ll run for at least one more week. They’ve given prop bets for Jackson’s productivity on the ground against the Oakland Raiders and one prop bet for the rest of his 2018 regular season.

I don’t see Lamar rushing 20 times this week but then again, I certainly didn’t believe he’d be sprinting around the field over 15 times against the Bengals on Sunday. I think he comes close but I have the under.

I think Lamar goes for more than 86 yards this week. The Raiders’ defense is horrid and Lamar’s fancy footwork when escaping the pocket will propel him over the line. It takes only a broken play without a spy and a block on a safety for him to get him into the endzone.

Yes. He’s going back-to-back 100-yards on the ground. He’s fast, he’s agile and the Raiders only have a single game of film on Lamar. The Oakland secondary is going to have their hands full, focusing both on their coverage and Jackson’s possible escape.

Under. I see Joe Flacco returning after the Raiders game. I’m not saying that’s the right choice, but I think they’re letting him heal up for two weeks while Jackson burns two of the worst NFL defenses in the league.
