Raiders work out ten players including several receivers

With the injuries to wide receivers Martavis Bryant and Jordy Nelson, head coach Jon Gruden said the team would be working out some receivers to look for a replacement. Well, we know who a few of those players were.

One of them is familiar. It’s Griff Whalen, who spent the offseason with the Raiders and was released on August 28 with an injury settlement.

Two others were former Vikings receiver Charles Johnson and former Eagles third round pick, Josh Huff. This according to Adam Caplan.

Others mentioned include QB Alek Torgersen who was most recently with the Cardinals, former Chargers punter Drew Kaser, and former Cowboys third round pick safety JJ Wilcox.

Also among them was undrafted rookie safety Afolabi Laguda according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Laguda went undrafted out of Colorado and was waived by the Rams in early September with an injury settlement.

That’s seven players, which means there are three players who the team worked out that we don’t yet know about.

Tuesday the Raiders waived Kony Ealy from the active roster and James Cowser from the practice squad, which means they are adding players to fill those roster spots.
