Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth will donate his game check from this week’s game to the victims of the mass shooting earlier this week in nearby Thousand Oaks, Calif. Whitworth, who lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife and four children, was understandably left shaken upon learning the news of how a gunman opened fire at a local country music bar, leaving 12 victims dead, including a police officer. Whitworth expressed his devastation and grief on Twitter Thursday morning, as did his wife. The Athletic’s Jay Glazer writes in a Veterans Day piece on Whitworth published Friday that the veteran lineman will donate his game check, which amounts to approximately $60,000, to the families of the victims and others impacted by the tragedy.
