The Saints travel north to take on a Bengals squad looking to upset them.
We’re officially entering the back half of the season for the New Orleans Saints (7-1), who get it kicked off by traveling to take on the Cincinnati Bengals (5-3). It’s their third AFC North opponent this season, and just the 14th time these two franchises meet. The Bengals lead the all-time series 7-6, having won four out of the past five matchups (2010 being the exception).
Sean Payton’s squad has a great opportunity to distance themselves in a very close and entertaining NFC South race, as the Panthers were shellacked by the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. New Orleans has been red-hot after losing their season opener, winning seven straight contests.
Of course, the biggest news surrounding the Saints is the quick coming and going of Dez Bryant, who was lost for the year due to a torn Achilles suffered at practice. Keith Kirkwood got a call up from the practice squad, and it’ll be interesting to see how he does.
